PokePark Fishing Contest DS
PokePark Fishing Contest DS is a Pokemon fishing mini-game distributed for the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2005. It was never sold on a retail cartridge. Instead it was a download-only title handed out through the system's Download Play feature to people attending PokePark, a short-lived Pokemon theme park venue that operated in Japan that year.
The game was temporary by design. A downloaded copy was erased when the DS was powered off, or after a 12-hour window, whichever came first. Only a high-score ranking sent to a server survived; everything else vanished with the shutdown. Because it was download-only, tied to a specific event, and built to delete itself, the game left almost nothing behind, and it spent close to two decades classified as lost media with no known ROM in circulation.
In July 2026 a Nintendo DS development and test cartridge said to contain PokePark Fishing Contest DS surfaced on eBay, listed by a Germany-based seller. Whether a playable copy can be extracted, downloaded, or transmitted from that hardware is not established. The game remains one of the more notable pieces of missing Pokemon software from the DS era.
