Diablo II Goes Gold

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Diablo II has gone gold. Go ahead and warn your family now, because the end of June is about to disappear into loot, clicking, and whatever caffeinated poison you keep beside the keyboard.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Diablo II has gone gold. Go ahead and warn your family now, because the end of June is about to disappear into loot, clicking, and whatever caffeinated poison you keep beside the keyboard.

Initial orders are already above 1.5 million copies worldwide. The Windows 95/98/2000/NT version will ship on three CD-ROMs by the end of June, with a Macintosh version planned for the third quarter of 2000.

Diablo II sends players back after Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal with larger acts, deeper character classes, and expanded Battle.net support. Blizzard says this is its most ambitious project yet. Translation: free time is about to get murdered in broad daylight.
