Halo: Campaign Evolved

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, developed by Halo Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios. It launches July 28, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC via the Xbox app and Steam, and PlayStation 5, with up to five days of early access beginning July 23 for Premium and Collector's Edition owners. It is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one.

The game rebuilds the original ten-mission Halo: Combat Evolved campaign with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, refined controls, and a remastered soundtrack. Nine additional weapons from across the Halo series are added to the sandbox alongside the original arsenal. Skull modifiers return, allowing players to alter combat conditions with randomized weapons, enemies, and environments. For the first time in a Halo: CE release, players can hijack enemy vehicles and pilot a fully drivable Wraith tank. The campaign supports solo play, two-player split-screen on console, and four-player online co-op with full crossplay and cross-progression across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5.

Included with every edition is Operation: METEORITE, a new three-mission story arc set one year before the events of Combat Evolved. It follows the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson on a clandestine UNSC operation aboard a Covenant research vessel. The story was developed in collaboration with Halo novelist Troy Denning. New enemy types, environments, and weapons appear in the operation that are not part of the base campaign remake.

Three editions are available at launch: Standard ($49.99), Premium ($69.99, includes early access and an armory pack), and Collector's Edition ($199.99, includes a 12-inch Master Chief statue, light-up Cortana chip, Steelbook, and physical game disc). Pre-orders across all editions include the Foundry Armory Pack with Classic 2001 Mark V armor and weapon skins.
