Halo: Campaign Evolved
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a 2026 remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, developed by Halo Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios. Built in Unreal Engine 5, it features high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, and refined controls while staying faithful to the 2001 story. The package includes three new prequel missions starring Sgt. Avery Johnson and Master Chief, as well as support for two-player split-screen co-op (console only) and up to four-player online co-op with full crossplay and cross-progression across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Notably, it is the first Halo title to launch on a non-Xbox console at release, bringing the franchise to PlayStation 5 on day one alongside Xbox and PC. The remake does not include competitive multiplayer, focusing entirely on the campaign experience. It released on July 28, 2026, with early access for Premium Edition owners starting July 23, and is available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
