Spyro: A Realm Beyond announced for Spring 2027, first original game in nearly 20 years

Toys for Bob announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond at the Xbox Games Showcase, a brand-new Spyro game coming Spring 2027. It is the first original mainline entry since Spyro: A Hero’s Tail in 2004, not counting the Skylanders spin-off era or the Reignited Trilogy remakes.

The big design change is flight. The classic PS1 games limited Spyro to gliding from jumps and flying only in separate timed minigame levels. A Realm Beyond makes true dragon flight a core ability: you can take to the air at any point and navigate the world from above. Toys for Bob built the entire game around that premise. Tom Kenny is back as Spyro’s voice. The character design continues from the Reignited Trilogy rather than the Skylanders redesign.

The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is included with Game Pass. No price announced yet.
