Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches October 15, made by the Dead Cells team
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, a direct sequel to 1989's Dracula's Curse made by the Dead Cells team, launches October 15 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Konami has confirmed an October 15 release date for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Switch version follows later in 2026. The game is developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the French studios behind Dead Cells.
It is a direct sequel to Castlevania: Dracula’s Curse (1989), set 23 years later in 1499 Paris. You play as Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor, working through monster-overrun streets using whip-based combat and an Arcana system that turns defeated bosses into equippable tarot card abilities. Death, Medusa, and Carmilla are among the boss roster.
Pre-orders are live now. Standard Edition is $29.99; the $39.99 Midnight Edition adds a digital art gallery, soundtrack, and costume bonuses. All pre-orders include an Alucard Style Costume. If you grew up with NES Castlevania and wondered what it would look like with the Dead Cells team at the wheel, October 15 is the answer.
