Diablo II Battle.net Stress Test Signups Begin May 1
Blizzard will open Diablo II stress test registration on GameSpot for up to 100,000 Battle.net testers.
Blizzard has announced the final public beta phase for Diablo II: a Battle.net stress test with up to 100,000 selected players. Registration opens Monday, May 1 at 10 a.m. PT through GameSpot and runs until Sunday, May 7 at 9 p.m. PT.
Applications will be accepted worldwide, with one submission per person. Blizzard will randomly select testers and notify them by email. Selected players will receive an access code and download location for the 100MB beta.
The stress test will be playable only through Battle.net and includes the Barbarian class plus portions of the first act. The point is simple: hammer Battle.net before launch so Diablo II does not melt the second everyone in the world starts clicking skeletons.
