Ken Silverman Interview

Duke World has put up an interview with Ken Silverman, creator of the Build engine used in 3D Realms' Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior and other hits including Blood.

Ken Silverman Interview is the story on November 30, 1998, and it is one of those late-1998 PC gaming updates that says exactly where the scene is right now. Duke World has put up an interview with Ken Silverman, creator of the Build engine used in 3D Realms' Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior and other hits including Blood. Earlier this month, we were able to pull Ken away from his studies at Brown University to ask a few questions about how he got his start in the computer game industry at Epic MegaGames while still a fifteen-year-old high school student, his work with 3D Realms on the Build engine which he started at the amazingly young age of seventeen, and much more.

Be sure to check out this four page interview here for a boatload of information on his involvement with Duke Nukem 3D, the hard facts on why exactly we won't be seeing a 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics patch for Duke Nukem 3D or any other Build engine games in the future, and his quiet exit from the gaming industry to return to school. Don't forget to check out the Dukeworld Holiday Giveaway '98 while you're there if you haven't done so already, for a chance to win one of over 100 prizes worth over $7500.
