Jedi Academy
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a first-person action game developed by Raven Software and published by LucasArts, released in 2003 for Windows. It is the third installment in the Jedi Knight series. Players control Jaden Korr, a new student at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy, who becomes embroiled in a conflict with a dark Jedi cult. The game allows character customization, including species, gender, saber hilt, and clothing color. Missions are chosen from a menu and take the player across a variety of planets. The core gameplay revolves around lightsaber combat, with three distinct styles: single, dual, and double-bladed sabers, each with unique moves. Force powers can be mixed and matched, with abilities like push, pull, lightning, healing, and mind trick. Multiplayer includes standard deathmatch, duel, capture the flag, and two new modes: power duel (two-on-one saber fights) and siege (objective-based team combat with classes). Jedi Academy was praised for its deep melee combat, mission variety, and the feeling of being a powerful Jedi, though its AI and occasional bugs drew criticism. It remains a fan favorite and a high point for Star Wars action games.
