POCG VERDICT
Looks like Battlefield, plays like Quake, and mostly pulls it off.
A class-based shooter that's faster, deeper, and more fun than it has any right to be, even if some maps seem rigged from the start.
About This Game

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a team-based, class-driven first-person shooter developed by Splash Damage and published by Activision. Released in May 2007 for Windows, the game adapts the objective-focused gameplay of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory to the Quake universe, pitting the human Global Defense Force (GDF) against the alien Strogg in a global war. Players choose from five classes per faction, Soldier, Medic, Engineer, Field Ops, and Covert Ops, each with unique abilities, weapons, and deployables that encourage coordinated team play. The core mode is a three-map campaign across distinct continents, with persistent experience rewards that unlock medals and stat tracking but do not grant gameplay advantages. Vehicle combat, asymmetric faction mechanics, and large outdoor environments set it apart from the arena combat of earlier Quake titles. The game received mixed but generally positive reviews, with praise for its deep class interplay and criticism for map balance and a convoluted server browser.
