POCG VERDICT
The Star Trek curse is dead. Grab a phaser.
Elite Force is the best Star Trek game ever made, period. It's also a rock-solid shooter, even if it's too short and the final boss is a cheat-code candidate.
About This Game

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is a first-person shooter developed by Raven Software and published by Activision in 2000 for Windows. It is based on the Star Trek: Voyager television series and runs on the Quake III Arena engine. The player assumes the role of Ensign Alexander Munro, a member of the USS Voyager's newly formed Hazard Team, a security unit specializing in dangerous away missions. The single-player campaign takes the team from Voyager's decks through Borg cubes, alien hulks, and even the Mirror Universe, all rendered with the engine's signature smooth surfaces and detailed textures. The game received widespread praise for its authentic Trek atmosphere, including LCARS-styled interfaces, voice acting by most of the series' cast, and a soundtrack that mirrors the show's orchestral style. Multiplayer features a "holo-match" mode in which players compete without gore, a concession to the license, and includes classic modes like deathmatch and capture the flag. Expansions and a sequel, Elite Force II (2003), followed its commercial success. The PC version requires a Windows 95/98 system with a 3D accelerator. As of 2026, it is available digitally on GOG and Steam, updated for modern Windows, often with technical patches and bundled bonus content.
