POCG VERDICT
Scourge of Armagon alone is worth it, Gremlins stealing your guns is one of the funniest things to happen in a first-person shooter.
Quake: The Offering bundles the classic with two mission packs full of devastating new weapons, hilarious enemies, and tons of deathmatch mayhem.
About This Game

Quake: The Offering is a compilation released in 1998 by id Software and published by Activision. It collects the original Quake (1996), its two official mission packs, Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity, plus the QuakeWorld multiplayer client and a host of additional content. Quake is a first-person shooter set in a dark, gothic universe where a lone marine battles through dimension-hopping military bases and medieval castles filled with monsters. The game introduced fully 3D environments, real-time lighting, and a physics-driven movement system that became the foundation for competitive deathmatch. Scourge of Armagon adds 15 new single-player levels with mechanical contraptions, new enemies (like weapon-stealing gremlins), and new weapons (such as the laser cannon). Dissolution of Eternity follows with another 15 levels, new enemies including devastating archfiends and flying guardian robots, and a return to episodic structure. The compilation also includes id's development tools, a level editor, and numerous multiplayer maps. The original soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails is present on the game CD when inserted. Quake: The Offering represents the definitive single-player and multiplayer Quake experience of its era.
