About This Game

Grand Theft Auto VI is an upcoming open-world action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Games and published by Rockstar Games under parent company Take-Two Interactive. It is the sixth main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series and the first since Grand Theft Auto V in 2013, making it one of the most anticipated and expensive video games ever produced.

The game returns to the fictional state of Leonida, a stand-in for Florida, centered on a modern reimagining of Vice City, the series' long-running parody of Miami. It introduces the franchise's first official female lead in a dual-protagonist structure, following Lucia and her partner Jason in a story Rockstar has framed around a Bonnie-and-Clyde dynamic. As with previous entries, it pairs a large open world with driving, on-foot action, and satire of contemporary American culture.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version expected later, as has been the pattern for the series. The base game is priced at $80, with a $100 Ultimate Edition carrying additional in-game content.

The release drew significant attention beyond its content for a distribution decision: its physical edition ships without a disc, containing only a download code in the box. Physical copies are set to reach shelves on November 12, a week ahead of launch, purely to let buyers begin pre-loading the digital game, a move widely read as a milestone in the decline of disc-based ownership.
