About This Game

Rayman Legends is a 2D platformer developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and published by Ubisoft. It was originally released for the Wii U in 2013, with versions later appearing on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Windows, and subsequent generation consoles. The game serves as a direct follow-up to Rayman Origins, expanding on its hand-drawn aesthetic, four-player cooperative play, and rhythmic musical stages that synchronise platforming challenges to original compositions. Players control Rayman, Globox, and a growing cast of characters as they dash, punch, and glide through the painting-themed levels of the Glade of Dreams, rescuing Teensies and tackling boss encounters.

Legends introduced daily and weekly online challenges, online leaderboards, and asynchronous ghost modes that extended its replayability well beyond the main campaign. The Wii U original made heavy use of the GamePad for asymmetrical cooperative puzzle sections, though these were reimagined for single-screen play in subsequent ports. A Definitive Edition launched on Nintendo Switch in 2017, bundling previously exclusive content and adding full touchscreen and local wireless multiplayer support. Across its many releases, Rayman Legends earned widespread acclaim for its art direction, tight controls, and inventive level design, frequently cited as one of the finest platformers of its generation.
